Xport BIO Cubes are advanced biological filtration media engineered to provide exceptional surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize. Manufactured using Brightwell’s NanoIntelex technology, these cubes offer extremely high porosity, allowing efficient growth of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria responsible for maintaining healthy aquarium water chemistry.
With over 71,000 square feet of colonizable surface area per liter, Xport BIO Cubes deliver one of the highest surface-area-to-volume ratios available in biological filtration media. This allows aquarists to achieve powerful biological filtration performance while using less space in the filtration system.
When seeded with beneficial bacteria, Xport BIO Cubes rapidly support the conversion of toxic ammonia into nitrite and nitrate, helping stabilize aquarium environments even in heavily stocked systems. They may also assist with natural nitrate reduction when placed in lower-oxygen filtration zones.
Xport BIO Cubes are suitable for marine aquariums and hard freshwater aquariums with pH above 7.5 and can be used in sumps, filter chambers, reactors, or dedicated media containers.
Key Features
• Ultra-porous biological filtration media
• Massive surface area for beneficial bacteria colonization
• Supports rapid conversion of ammonia and nitrite
• Helps maintain stable biological filtration
• Requires less space compared to conventional bio media
• Suitable for marine and high-pH freshwater aquariums
• Can assist with nitrification and denitrification processes
Instructions
Rinse the cubes with aquarium water or purified tap water before use to remove dust.
Use approximately 2 to 4 cubes per 10 US gallons (38L) of aquarium water depending on bio load.
For faster colonization, seed the media with beneficial bacteria such as MicroBacter7 before placing it in the aquarium. Position the cubes in an area with good water flow and oxygenation for maximum nitrification performance.
Important Notes
Do not fluidize the cubes or allow them to grind against other filtration media.
Use mechanical filtration before the cubes to prevent clogging with organic debris.
